Why do people come to Washington, DC?

Apart from the multiple flamingos in the previous post, there are interesting people who come to town.  This man, as an example, wearing what appears to be the color of a redskins visor, is in fact the Dalai Lama.  We went to hear what he had to say and it was great.  He talked about intentions.  Even if you do a good deed and it might be a wonderful thing you have done, if you have done it with poor intentions, your deed has lost its luster.  In fact, it could be a negative deed, if done for a completely bad reason.
